¸é´Ç²ú´Ç³§±ð±èâ„¢-S and ·¡²¹²õ²â³§±ð±èâ„¢ Magnet Cleaning
Technical tip from our dedicated team of Product and Scientific Support specialists
Cleaning of ¸é´Ç²ú´Ç³§±ð±èâ„¢-S is required for demo units returning to ºÚÁϳԹÏ, for production units returning to ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï for service, or prior to servicing the unit. Please read entire protocol before proceeding.
- Make sure the instrument is turned off and unplugged.
- For the Touchscreen, spray 70% ethanol or 70% isopropanol on a soft, clean paper towel prior to wiping it down.
Note: Directly spraying the Touchscreen may result in fluid seeping behind the external screen surface and into electrical components. - Spray the external surfaces with 70% ethanol or 70% isopropanol. Wipe off the solution with a soft, clean paper towel. The ¸é´Ç²ú´Ç³§±ð±èâ„¢-S can be wiped down with a dilute laboratory disinfectant solution (e.g. 1 in 10 dilution of bleach or sodium hypochlorite solution) but should be thoroughly wiped clean with water afterwards, as residual disinfectant may corrode the instrument.
- If biological material is spilled in the Carousel area of the instrument, a more thorough cleaning is needed. Use the following procedure:
- Unload and remove the Carousel.
- Remove the magnets from the Carousel and disinfect the Carousel and magnets with a dilute laboratory disinfectant solution (e.g. 1 in 10 dilution of bleach or sodium hypochlorite solution).
- Rinse* the Carousel and magnets* with water.
- Spray the Carousel and magnets with 70% ethanol or 70% isopropanol.
- Disinfect the spill area in the ¸é´Ç²ú´Ç³§±ð±èâ„¢-S work surface tub with a dilute laboratory disinfectant solution (e.g. 1 in 10 dilution of bleach or sodium hypochlorite solution).
- Rinse the work surface tub with water.
- Spray the work surface tub with 70% ethanol or 70% isopropanol.
- Once the components have air-dried, reassemble the Carousel and magnets back into the instrument.
Flush the Hydraulic System:
To flush the lines with de-ionized water, select “Maintenance†from the Home screen, then click on the “Basic Prime†button. Run the “Basic Prime†protocol 3 times to flush the hydraulic fluid lines.
Clean the Hydraulic System:
- Fill the hydraulic fluid bottle with 70% ethanol or 70% isopropanol and run the “Basic Prime†protocol 4 times.
- After the last “Basic Prime†protocol has run, leave the alcohol in the line for 1 - 2 hours.
- Clean the hydraulic fluid bottle and fill with de-ionized water.
- Run the “Basic Prime†protocol 5 times to remove any alcohol from the hydraulic system.
